We felt lost, overwhelmed, and totally alone when we launched our businesses.
The days leading up to our launches were heavily coated in overwhelming Google searches & seas of Facebook Groups.
That's why we created Wild Leaf Collaborative. After a long friendship as mutual photographers in the local Rising Tide chapter, we uncovered the biggest thing we had in common- our love for helping other creatives navigate through the intimidating, and often lonely, process of getting a business up and running.
Meet Alicia & Emily.
Alicia has won many awards with her High School Senior Photography, being featured in Senior Style Guide Magazine, and named one of the Top 25 Up & Coming Senior Photographers for 12th Year Magazine. On top of that, she runs an online store for outdoor enthusiasts. She loves to do all the things, while spending her downtime with her 4 year old and her hubby outdoors as much as humanly possible.
Your New Best Friends
Things we have in common:
- Not eating meat. (Depending on the day and location, we consider ourselves VegaPescatarians.)
- Our love for camping
- Our belief in self-care, positive mindset practices & all the good vibes
- Being absolutely ridiculous, and sharing outtakes of such shenanigans as much as possible.
Emily is furmom to two rescue dogs Bailee and Frank, wife to her hunky husband Tim, film photographer of weddings and families, and a graphic designer creating big brands for small businesses as well as wedding invitations for creative couples. She was named one of Tallahassee’s Top 30 Under 30 by the Network of Young Professionals. Her work has been featured on Design Aglow and Rising Tide Society. She currently serves as the Marketing Chair for the Animal Shelter Foundation and as Co-Leader for her local Tuesdays Together group. She loves bold patterns, palm trees and a good cocktail.
It wasn't always pretty...
While that all may seem awesome, it wasn't always pretty. If you ask either one of us to show you photos from our first session, we'll lie and say the dog ate it. There were highs followed by months of lows. Investing in crappy courses, overspending on marketing materials (we talk all about our financial mishaps in our Launch Your Biz course), and of course the constant "fraud syndrome". Countless money being thrown at a slow growing business, while not making any money in return. But after going through the trenches all alone, and battered and bruised, we came out the other side with thick skin, and lessons learned.
That's why we're here. To remind you that your not alone, and it doesn't have to be so hard. Let us take your hand, give you a big ass hug, and tell you that it's ok, and we're here to help you. We'll make you laugh, we'll make you cry, and we'll be there with you on this journey to being your own boss.
