I felt lost, overwhelmed and totally alone when I launched my business.
The days leading up to my launch were heavily coated in overwhelming Google searches and a mind-numbing amount of free webinars. That's why I created Wild Leaf Collaborative. After several years of helping fellow creatives answer their tough biz-questions, I realized there was something bigger than myself - my love for helping other creatives navigate through the intimidating, and often lonely, process of getting a business up and running.
I’m a furmom to two rescue dogs Bailee and Frank, wife to my hunky husband Tim, film photographer of weddings and families, and a graphic designer creating big brands for small businesses as well as wedding invitations for creative couples. I was named one of Tallahassee’s Top 30 Under 30 by the Network of Young Professionals. My work has been featured on Design Aglow and Rising Tide Society. I currently serves as the Marketing Chair for the Animal Shelter Foundation and as Co-Leader for my local Tuesdays Together group. I love bold patterns, palm trees and a good cocktail.
Four fun facts about me:
- I’m pescatarian 75% of the time
- I love the beach! It’s the sole reason I moved to Florida from Indiana, by myself!
- I believe in self-care, positive mindset practices & all the good vibes
- I’m known for my humor and love sharing outtakes
I left the 9-to-5 cog
Working a 9-to-5 was never satisfying for me. Yes I was a graphic designer, using my skills but not really my talents. Not to mention the required ass-in-seat mentality, having to schedule time-off when it was convenient for others and having to leave my furbabies home alone all day - not cool.
It was a job. But not much more.
I always knew I wanted to be my own boss, work for myself on my schedule, choose which projects I worked on and have creative freedom to do them as I wanted. I wanted to be in control of my income, not just hoping for a raise that never came. And I wanted to be able to do it all with my dogs at my feet.
It was scary to say the least.
Terrifying may be more accurate. Even while working the full time job, that side hustle gave a thrill that couldn't be described. I learned so many lessons through my first years of entrepreneurship, and when I began leading my local community of creatives, I knew I wanted to help others that were in the same spot. I'm here to guide you on your journey, help you avoid mistakes that I made and to push you to believe that it can happen!
That's why I’m here.
